As does Spy Sweeper

I bought this month's PC Magazine (was traveling, needed something to read), they rated a bunch of the spyware removal prog's. The free ones, Adaware and Spybot did OK, although Spybot seems to be falling. Spy Sweeper got top honors if I recall correctly. I think it has a free trial too. Worth checking out.

IMO, Spybot is nice because (it's free and) the TeaTimer will help block things from going back in the registry as you remove them... but, sometimes you have to remove the items manually as it doesn't catch everything itself.

I use AntiVir and the Microsoft Antispyware... it caught and got rid of a virus, and my machine has been working like a charm so far. Read that survival guide that some of the other members mentioned.

Yes there is a free trial oF Spy Sweeper. Its not bad and cleans out a lot of stuff, but it can be very annoying though. It will constantly bug you if you change a setting in IE.
