need a relatively inexpensive hard drive enclosure that can house two ata100 IDE drives and connect them via USB 2.0 as well as supply enough cooling for the drives (this is very important as the cheaper versions ive had before have melted) i only have 2 hd's that i need to put in the enclosure so 2 seperate ones would work great if theres a way they could be daisy chained and then attached or stackable or something...

next i need some kinda tiny adapater that will take a keyboard plug and make it usb so i can use a regular keyboard on my laptop via usb 2.0, I am also looking for a great Microphone (non-headset) that i can use to make skype phone calls, i don't need anything excellent as ill be in a quiet environment when using it.

and finally i need a good usb 2.0 hub to plug all this stuff into because my system does not have enough inputs =-O any recommendations would be apperciated, just post them here please.

* "relatively inexpensive" - What's your budget?
* "house two ata100 IDE drives and connect them via USB 2.0" - Do you want to RAID 0 or RAID 1 these drives?

* "adapater that will take a keyboard plug and make it usb" - Here

* "good usb 2.0 hub" - Make sure to get a "powered" hub, something like This.
"Powered" = :thumbsup:
"Self-powered" = :thumbsdown:

Check out an Icy Box USB hard drive enclosure. They come in SATA and PATA flavours. A few of my friends have them and they've never had any problems.

I want both the drives to host seperate data, aka non-mirrors but they can be dynamic, that won't bother me, just looking for the best option for both that will also provide proper cooling.

i jumped the gun and purchased a usb 2.0 hub that wasn't powered but ill send that back, i just purchased the one you suggested.

my budget for an enclosure is somewhere below $50 (for the harddrive stuff)
