I'll be shopping for 2GB (2 x 1GB) of DDR that can do 250MHz 1:1 at 1T on my NF4 SLI mobo next month. Is there anything out there that can do that?

1stly why would you need 250 1:1 1t when the gains are so small compared to 200 5:4 1t on amd64s?
this will do fine at ddr500

but going for this

will be basically the same.

use that money to buy a better video card or cpu.

I'll be getting a new CPU anyways. An X2, probably a 3800+. I won't be upgrading again for a while so I want to buy some really good stuff so it'll last me. If I can get 250HTT 1:1 1T then I will be really satisfied with what I've got. For a year or so at least... :p

250HTT 1:1 1T shouldn't be all that hard to attain, I just don't want to have to experiment with multiple RAM kits to find what I want. I can do 240HTT 5:4 1T with my current memory (see link in sig), but I can't do 250HTT 5:4 1T even with the Vdimm jacked up.

1. go with cheapest or close to it 2gigs of ram. In other words, $150 2 gigs and value ram.

2. 2 gigs wont benefit you in WOW.

3. Spend the money on a better videocard instead and overclock your cpu. Investing in 2 gigs of ram with P4 3.0ghz and 6600GT is probably the last thing you want to do.

#1 graphics card, #2 A64, #3 ram.

well a 6600gt is about $110 to $130 and the ram you've alloted #200 so that means you have $310 right?

pcik this up for $170
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814130267

and this up for $133
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820231044

The ram will be about 5-10% slower than the cas2 $200-250 stuff but the video card will m,ame up that difference x5 to x10.(a 6800gs is at least 150% as fast and at higher resolutions/aa/af, almost 200% as fast.

2 things: I think I might stick with my 1 gig of pc3200 ram for now.

I can't use PCI-E :-

My computer, so it seems, is behind in the times. Any good AGP's beat my eVGA 6600 GT
?

here you go
http://microcenter.com/byos/byos_single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0217999

$250 with a $50 rebate. best bang for the buck card. Faster than a 6800ultra, faster than a 6800gs, faster than any other x800 or x850 or 6xxx series card.

It will run DOOM3 at 1600x1200 high quality at 85fps average.(>60 is pretty smooth)-the 6600gt gets 48.4fps
It will run DOOM3 at 1600x1200 4xaa high quality at 60fps.-the 6600gt gets 33.6fps

Farcry 1280x1024 4xaax850xt: 67.4fps- 6600gt: 37.9fps

In Half Life 2 4xaa 1600x1200, it gets 99.13fps, 6600gt gets 38.88

As a reply to megatomic, ive got some crucial ballistix pc4000, they'll run 250mhz no problem, and with good timings too. Read some reviews of them for reassurance, you could probably get 240mhz at 2-2-2-5 if u get a decent pair, one reviewer got those, got them up much higher with only slightly looser timings. 1t isn't a problem anymore for 2x1gb (so say anandtech)
