Recommend me some nice speaker stands

Hey guys,

So them wooden things I glued together keep falling apart, which is annoying me. Add to the fact that my Gorilla Glue is now frozen solid and I need to buy SOMETHING anyways. So I figured instead of getting more glue, I might invest in some stands. Now keep in mind, I just hurt my wallet pretty bad on my recent electronics spree so I want the cheapest stands that are sturdy and look nice. My ideal stands would fit my Z5500s without doing anything out of the ordinary (such as drilling holes, scotch taping, etc.). Since the Z5500s are 5.1, I'm gonna need 2 pairs of stands. I am especially interested in hearing from folks who own the same speakers as to what they use but I'm open to suggestions from anyone. Thanks!

aaah I said that I would give a review about those cheap stands in that other thread but never got around to it. I finished putting everything together a few days ago...I'll put something here sometime today.

I bought these stands recently: Link
They also come in black.

It would be difficult to attach these directly on the the z5500 speakers. I got a metal plate from Lowes and drilled a few holes in it. I don't recommend that you take the base of the speakers off because I've heard that it's near impossible to get back on and it voids the warranty as well.

I'm satisfied with the stands overall. One of my gripes is that the top part is plastic and not metal. The stands don't always seem to up straight all the time either but that may be because I have carpet underneath. Also, due to the way the base of the speakers are shaped, the speakers tend to aim downwards just a little bit. That actually works out fine in my room. I'm pretty satisfied for the price of these stands.

Hmm... I like the price but the hole drilling sounds a bit complex. Do you know if Lowes would be willing to do the drilling? :)

doggy: For a velcro solution, that doesn't seem that cheap. If there were stands that attach directly without any fuss for around that price, I'd be willing to pay that (since I'd need 2 pair).

Logitech should really make and sell their own. They would make a killing with the popularity of these speakers!

Racks and Stands
I have bought all my cabinets, tv/speaker stands and dvd storage racks from here. They have everything from cheap to VERY expensive. Plus, there's no sales tax through Aug 17th and they have free shipping.

Ps: They usually extend the no Sale Tax deal and keep it going. It says it ends today but I almost guarantee that it won't :)

If you really like the stands the other poster mentioned, they have them HERE for the same price.
