Beethoven's Fifth is my favorite thing to listen to while I study, or even in the morning when I am getting ready for an important day. Helps me relax and focus. Also, there are quite a few good Jimmy Buffet songs that not too many people listen to:
Happily Ever After (Every Now and Then)
A Pirate Looks at Forty
Tin Cup Chalice
Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes
Death of an Unpopular Poet
Semi-True Story

Most of those are his lesser-known songs. I highly recommend all of them. The ones I listed are slower, more mellow songs. All excellent.

Why Don't We Get Drunk and Screw

Thought about that, but perhaps "mellow" is not the right description for that song.

Excellent suggestions here. Now I'm gonna have to go try some of these I haven't heard before. I'll throw out Low, Love and Rockets, Bark Psychosis .. Lost Signal is not really "mellow" but it's *very* much driving/zoning out music. Sort of pseudo-industrial like VNV Nation but with a heavy rhythmic beat and hypnotic vocals.
