The right side of my old headphones decided to suddenly stop working, so I need a new pair. Not really looking for anything fancy; I only want to spend around $50, and I would prefer a closed type (like my old ones). I know Sennheiser makes good high end headphones, but I'm not sure if brand really matters at the lower prices.

Anyone have recommendations?

If you could stretch a bit, and if you don't mind using IEMs, I'd recommend a set of Altec Lansing iM716 off ebay for $70.
They're almost identical to Etymotic's much more expensive ER4 series, which sound absolutely astonishing.
I have a pair of the ER4P, along with the much more expensive $500 Shure E500, and I have to say that the ER4's is a lot more accurate and detailed. The only downfall is that they're sometimes a bit too detailed for those not so good recordings, which is where the E500 would shine. But nothing has ever blown me away like the ER4's.
