My Sennheiser HD 437's just broke, and I'm looking for a worthy replacement. I could go out and buy another pair of 437's for about $35, and I really don't need anything fancier than what those have to offer. Still, if anyone has any better recommendations for a gaming headphone in that price range, I'd love to hear them.

Open ear design is preferrable, either with or without a mic. Doesn't have to be foldable/transportable or anything like that, it's not going to move from my desk.

and aren't you only able to bump your own thread every 4 hours? or does that not apply in OT?

my hd497's are indeed good cans:D

I bought low low end jbl headphones the other day for $20 and loved them..don't remember the model but they had 200 and 400 series and I bought the former.

they sound a lot better than the marshmallows I know and love (less bass but much better treble)

Even though they're foldable, you may want to look at the sennheiser PX100's ($33+shipping at newegg). They're very light on the head and provide (IMHO) almost unreal SQ (I've had them for about a year). One downside is that the cord is a little short, I think 4ft? That may make it hard to reach to the back of your computer.

As has already been mentioned, almost any open-style headphone sennheiser makes is a sure win. Just see what you like style-wise and perhaps search for it on head-fi.org to make sure it isn't one of the exceptions.

I think another pair worth a look are the Koss KSC75's, or, if you don't like the style, the portapro's. (they both use the same drivers)
