Recommend me some good historical fiction books...

I read a few of the Sharpe series, Emperor Series, and the Gods & Generals/Killer Angels/Last Full Measure Series.

I just picked up the Counte of Monte Cristo and The Winter King but I'm finding the reading boring for both and looking to exchange them. They both have a lot of nonsense talk in it, and I don't like first person point of view in The Winter King.

That book SUCKS, I'm sorry to say. The first time I read it, I thought it was good but a second reading had me severely questioning my sanity.

Admittedly, Follett did appear to do quite a bit of research but his storytelling ability sucks when it comes to this book. He should have stuck to writing spy thrillers, IMHO.

I loved the book. I'm also a fan of Michener.
