My headphones just played their last tune :(

So I am in the market for some new ones, I have an Ipod video and the stock headphones bother me. I am in the market for earbuds mainly but I would be willing to look at some others.

Any recommendations? I would like to keep it around $40.

Thanks :)

I would like to piggyback on this thread to find some headphones, preferably for long duration use in a college dorm while studying. Don't care about price, just bang for my buck to listen to music, study, listen to lectures etc...

Well I would mainly like to get a pair of earbuds, the others just tend to feel bulky to me.

Thanks though :)

/thread :p

is that too low of a price for headphones?

EDIT: found what you suggested :p,
Text Had them since Christmas, 0 problems to date and have been awesome.
Nice speakers and mic.

Be forewarned, the headphones Specop 007 suggested look goofy when you wear them.. I know someone who has those.. looks like he's got spinning rims on his headphones :p

If you're going to get headphones just for your dorm/when you study, I think getting full ear ones would be better (they're typically better).. you can't even tell that you're wearing them
if you have an especially big head, be careful of the 150s for more than like 5 hours, apparently they can hurt, but they've been fine for me... never hurt

I know its not within the $40 price range, but I'll throw these two out there just in case you have a sudden change of heart on your price range.

But my roommate got a pair of Sennheiser HD280s and after listening to them, I had to pick up a pair, yeah, they are $100, and I'm no audiophile, but they are worth it. Plus, they're often available for ~$80.

Ah yes, I forgot about them. Very nice sound, although not the most comfortable. Be careful though, as I thought those would be the last headphones I would buy. It turns out they were jjust the start :(.

Haha,

Hopefully, I can hold off. So far, I've been VERY happy with them (and they are comfortable on me, fortunately) so, maybe I will...

Another for the Koss KSC75. Plus, they are on sale at Radioshack! (Yes, yes, I know how bad Radioshack is, but cheap, good headphones make it all okay).

If you want to spend more, I have had good experiences with the Sennheiser HD497.

KSC-75's hands down. I own sennheiser hd-202's and hd-555's and I prefer the 75s over my 202's and almost as much as my 555's.
