Hey there,
soon it's Xmas time again and my brother will be home. Last Christmas, we played LOTR: Return of the King together and it was a blast. Now, I just read about Splinter Cell 4 again and IIRC, it has a Co op mode. I'm just wondering, what are some other cool Co op games out there? I think they are the most fun. Of course, we play alot of sport games but it's also fun if we can team up and beat some other bastards :D

Thanks in advance!

doesn't matter too much actually. If we LAN two together, I just have a 1.7Ghz notebook with 1GB RAM and a 128MB ATI Fire GL so keep that in mind ;) Cooler would be on one computer, but two computers would also be ok.

Serious Sam
Serious Sam Second Encounter
Serious Sam II
No One Lives Forever 2

as far as same-system co-op goes, your options are either sports games or emulation, but I'd wager that's about it.

Agreed. One time a friend and I fought the computer (when we first got the game) for like 1.5 hours. This was during the end game when we had instant unit creation. It was a blast.

Yeah - it was pretty fun, just make sure you're in the same room as whoever you're playing with. Makes it much easier and much more fun.

If you like Civ games, you can play Civ 4 cooperatively, setting you and your friends as permanant allies. I haven't tried this, I've only played by myself vs the AI but it could be fun if you like that type of game.

Hm, I'd rather prefer an action game but maybe, we will play Battle for Middleearth again :)

I like the Serious Sam series for co-op. There is also a mod that allows you to play Half-Life coop. And there's always Warcraft III.

This is also one of the few instances where a gaming console trumps a PC.

Ghost Recon or Raven Shield.

Edit: I'm not sure if Raven Shield offers Coop games. I only played through single player and assumed they'd offer a decent mp experience.

How do you load a Rise of Nations saved multiplayer game (which was played on a LAN and NOT through GameSpy)?? I've looked all over the place trying to figure it out with no luck. I see the option to load a saved single player game and see my multiplayer game in this menu, but I get a message similar to: "can't load a multiplayer game in a solo mode"??

I've also read that I've got to go through GameSpy in order to load a multiplayer game. This seems strange since the multiplayer game I'm trying to load was NOT played through GameSpy (i.e., I play multiplayer ONLY on a home LAN).

Thanks,

Bud

bf2...setup a single player game on one of the machines and then just connect to it via the multiplayer setup on the other machine. you will be limited to 16players on small maps, but the ai is good and the fighting is fierce, last time i did this i had over 100 kills. good times.
