I enjoy movies like The Wall and Apocalypse Now, both perfect blends of images and music. These are the kind of things you can watch over and over again.

What other films out there are similar to these? Not in premise, director, or actors, but in style.

Basically just insane stuff... it doesn't even have to have great music, it could be something like Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas or Trainspotting with messed up events and scenes.

Any other recommendations are welcome, this is just what I had in mind.

Well I just don't like owning movies like Braveheart, which are story-heavy and predictable. I just saw the Last Samurai and it was good, but honestly these are the types of movies where I look forward to the ending just to get it over with. My basic request is films with fvcked up stuff, crazy stuff that makes you think, or both.

ohh

in that case, some good movies that aren't really predictable are The Shawshank Redemption (great, one of my favorites), Catch Me If You Can (a few years old, I liked it), Apollo 13 (if you haven't seen it)

those are just a few of the dvds i've bought in the last month or so and really liked

edit: btw, if you're into fvcked up stuff, check out Salo. from what i've heard (never seen it myself) it's the most fvcked up movie you'll ever see :Q
