I want to take a break from Planetside 2, but the last few weeks I haven't seen any awesome, gotta-grab-this-for-cheap-right-now deals on Steam. Far Cry 3 is still $50. Borderlands 2 is still $60. Hey, Angry Birds Space is only $5! Meh.

I need new fun. Guess I'll have to start a new Fallout 3 character, or maybe actually finish Stalker.

I grabbed the Humble Android Bundle and have been playing Solar 2, and quite enjoying it.

Same here 'cept I am playing Dungeon Defender.
I keep going in to PLAY solar.......... But the sickness gets me.
Having SO much fun with the new classes.

Just started a Barbarian this AM. ZERO tower, all melee..

That is a twist, considering that the game is a MP tower defense game.
I never did the DLC, so for 10 bucks I figured what the heck.

HEY, if any DD players read this post; what is the purpose of the jester?
Leveled it to 27..... NOT GETTIN IT...

Back to OP. I think the min bid is 7 bucks now. Solar 2 gets a LOT of love, DD will be solid hours of play IF you like tower Defense.

PS I explored a new section (for me) on steam.

They have a LOT of demos.
Something to thing about.

When I left for work this AM. I was downloading 2.
One was Euro trucker..... Who knows? that 30 minutes (or whatever) could convince me to drop the 20 bucks?
Or it could be the start of several 30 minute diversions.

And they be FREE!!!!!

RPGs - $10 each - Star Wars KOTOR 1 and 2 (for 2 also get the restoration pack)

The other games I'd recommend all seem to be off-sale :( .

This is why you you should build up a huge backlog during the Steam sales, so they're waiting when you need them.

^Binding of Isaac is a fine suggestion. Easy to learn, tough to master, very addictive, and only five bucks.

From Dust is on sale for only three bucks, as part of the Ubisoft sale. Really cool, innovative game where you terra-form earth and water to progress. Really interesting. http://store.steampowered.com/app/33460/

Rochard is on sale for only two bucks right now. Haven't played it yet, but I heard it's really fun. http://store.steampowered.com/app/107800/

If you want something that involves a bit more thinking, World in Conflict appears to be on sale for only $6, which is rare (I've never seen it that cheap). Very action-packed, critically-acclaimed RTS. I'm not a big strategy guy but even I thought it was pretty awesome when I tried it. http://store.steampowered.com/sub/1471/

Oh, there's an idea. I quite liked the first one. Checking it out, thanks!

Edit: Binding of Isaac and World in Conflict, two more interesting possibilities. I'm not a huge "action RPG" guy, but I have heard good things about BoI.

BoI is a crack because of random power-up drops and they all stack with each other (mostly), making for an incredible amount of customization and replayability.

You can get a split shot + homing + piercing and have lots of fun with it.

Or you can get a fat shot + laser mod + ghost shot = BIG FAT LASER that pierces through blocks.

I want to go back and play again. You HAVE to buy the expansion (another $5), the game gets crazy fun.

Since it seems like you like FPS'. Have you tried Tribes Ascended? It is F2P but you can earn everything for free by playing. Path of Exile is a Diablo clone if you like those and it is also F2P with the only stuff you can buy being cosmetic or larger bank stash (which is pretty big to start with).

Lots of great ideas. World of Tanks I've played, and also Tribes: Ascended. Didn't really get into WoT but I've been really impressed at its staying power since release. T:A I played intensely for a few months.

I just played through quite a few levels of Defense Grid: the Awakening. I bought it a couple years ago and never played it. What a blast! Try it out if you like Tower Defense games.
