The Ring, maybe Event Horizen, which wasn't really scary per se, but after I got my TV set calibrated so the colors looked right, some of the scenes were kind of creepy. In the Mouth of Madness isnt scary, but it is a very good horror movie; lacking the fear factor, it really doesn't fit your criteria I suppose.
