Have watched and liked: Rurouni Kenshin, Samurai Champloo, Cowboy Bebop, Hajime no Ippo, Yu Yu Hakusho, Naruto, Berserk, Shura no Toki, Hellsing, Detective Conan, Lupin the 3rd.

Have watched and did not like or did not finish: Hunter X Hunter, Bleach, Full Metal Alchemist, Tenjou Tenge, Chrono Crusade, and more...

I'm looking for some original, creative, non-cloned anime with good characters and a good plot. Preferably martial arts / samurai / medieval.
 
The Twelve Kingdoms. Good fantasy setting with sword battles, animalistic beasts, and immortal rulers.

Amazon.com sells all 10 DVDs.
 
Stop watching Anime. It killed or bought all the good American cartoons (Beast Wars, Roughnecks, NASCAR Racers, etc).

Edit: Granted, Eska-Floneigh (pronounced Esk-a-flow-neigh) and He-man were good.

I have watched 40 episodes of it. The voices are gay in both Japanese and English. The storyline is wack. I can't stand the midget arguments.

It is one of the most overrated and one of the worst anime ever.

Stand Alone Complex is AWESOME.
Hollywood video has all of season 1 and some of season 2.

The second Ghost in the Shell movie is good.
The New Appleseed movie has to be seen to be believed.

You really should keep going w/ Bleach. It starts off slow with a lto of nonsensical stuff, but it REALLY picks up. Much like Kenshin.

It's a bit more serious than what I've seen of Champloo (discs 1-3) but with more humor than Samurai X. It also has strong supernatural/monster elements that are well done.

...also since you like this genre you should check out the live action films that inspired them, even though many are black and white and a bit dated: Yojimbo, the original Zatoichi, Wolf with Cub, Seven Samurai, Ran, etc.
