Which would you play first ?

  • Castlevania Lords Of Darkness

  • Heavenly Sword

  • Dante's Inferno Divine Edition

  • God Of War III

  • Bayonetta

Sigma is worth playing, Sigma 2 is just kind of middling. Ninja Gaiden Black on original Xbox trumps them both handily. If you don't have an Xbox but really want to play, then go for Sigma.

Isn't Sigma a better version of Ninja Gaiden Black?

It's certainly a prettier version of it. I would say the unskippable Rachel missions make for a worse game overall though.

Well, not only did I finish GOW III, I have also finished Bayonetta 🙂

While GOW III was epic, I also think Bayonetta was. Hmm...which game to start now ?

I loved GoW3. How would you describe Bayonetta?

I'm currently playing Batman Arkham Asylum and love it but unfortunately can't help you with any of the other choices remaining in your poll.

How would I describe Bayonetta ? Hmmm....

I think the game is very well designed. Like when you underground where the lava pools are, then you step through that gate and it seems your in the garden of eden. Had quite a bit of humor in it as well, as when the little girl won't stop calling her "mummy". But instead of describing it, sounds more like I am posting what happens in it.

Just to describe, I loved it. Maybe even a little more than GOW III. And I def plan on playing through it again. It was only $20 at Walmart.....but if you are considering playing it, dont actually consider it, just buy it.

Very fast paced, action never stops, awesome boss fights, cutscens simliar to DMC 4.

Even my wife sits and watches every time I play GOW III. She is big on GOW. But she has come to say just this morning, that she likes Bayonetta as her all time favorite game now.

Dont f**k with a witch 😱

I acutally have Batman Arkham Asylum, but I have it for the PC "use 360 controller". But I will also say this, I like Bayonetta better than Arkham Asylum.

Since I have finished GOW III and Bayonetta several days ago, I decided to skip Heavenly Sword "I've finished it several years ago" and go ahead with Castlevania Lords Of Shadow.

I am now on Chapter 5 of Castlevania, just beat the crow witch...and to be totally honest here.......I do not see what the problem is with this game. Because so far, I like it just as much as GOW III and Bayonetta. And in "my" opinion, Castlevania has ALOT of replay value. I believe it is impossible to get everything on the first playthrough.

Castlevania is really a good game.

I however dipped my hand into Dante's Inferno a little as well. Not a bad game at all. But like you all said, it is "more" of the same like DMC and GOW. But not a bad game.

No question, GOWIII. It is a great ride, although I found the ending a bit over the top.

After that, I would play Heavenly Sword. The gameplay isn't all that, but Andy Serkis directed the cutscenes and did an excellent job.

Dante' Inferno is ok. It is a GoW clone through and through, but has an interesting theme.

I actually didn't like Castlevania LOS, which is surprising because I have enjoyed most other Castlevania games.

I haven't played bayonetta, but I hear that it runs like crap on the PS3.

Yea, I totally agree with this, in every way.

I have finished Heavenly Sword before...a few years ago. Picked it up again because it was only a few bucks. 🙂

100% agree again.

I dont know why, but I absolutely love Castlevania LOS. I think there is talk of a sequel as well.

It seemed to run fine on the PS3 for me. I haven't experienced any problems with Bayonetta. Except for the "minor" screen tearing every now and then at the top of the screen.

I use a 40 inch Sharp Aquos LED Quattron

I'd play bayonetta last because it is so much better than the rest, that they'll end up disappointing you if you play bayonetta first.

Edit - I forgot Bayonetta is supposedly horrible on the PS3. I played mine on 360 so I'm not sure how bad it is.

Actually I already finished Bayonetta. And again, I havent experienced any problems with Bayonetta. It ran as smooth as all the other games in my list. Every once in a while, there would be "minor" screen tearing though. But to me, it was so minor, I forgot it was there when it happened.

That's cool, maybe it was patched

If you haven't played Demon's Souls, you should.

Ninja Gaiden Sigma is tediously hard. I played it for about a week and got frustrated and moved to something else. Haven't mustered the desire to pick it back up again, but I plan to.

I think someone else in this thread mentioned Demon Souls. Might have to check it out. I dont know why, but I am a BIG fan of "button mashing" quick paced/combo type player. 🙂

Looks like Demon Souls isn't as fast paced as GOW/Bayonetta/DMC/Castlevania.

Can't wait for the new DMC game though. And it better be good.

Who would have thought Dante ever had black hair ?

I voted for GOW3

But if I may suggest other games

*HEAVY RAIN If you can get past the controller learning curve from the first 3 hours of the game then I have a feeling you will enjoy this game very much. I enjoyed the game so much I beleive I played 10-14 hours straight and finish it later on that evening.

*LA NOIRE I only played 3 missions so far and it has been a great to me, If you like solving cases or puzzles or whatnot you should try this game as well. I also heard that this game is gonna be ported to the PC.

* Valkyria Chronicles If you've ever played Final Fantasy Tactics and possible enjoyed it, you might like this one as well. The story gets more engaging as you progress but I don't wanna spoil anything. This game is one of those hidden gems and you should do yourself a favor and play it :3

* PACMAN CHAMPIONSHIP EDITION DX I know.. I said pacman but hear me out it, I had lots of fun with it. It's like pacman snorted some white substance and ate magical mushrooms

This is one game that my wife seems highly interested in as well. Looks promising.

While I don't mind puzzles and cases, I think this would be a excellent game for my wife. She has a taste for those types of things. Me, not so much.

I have played Final Fantasy Tactics on the Gameboy Advance, it was "OK" but didn't really prefer the style.

Umm, ok ?

It won't be good. It is 30fps, made by Ninja Theory, and the new design is stupid. Sad, I love DMC.

I hope at least it ties in with at least one of the other DMC games. If it doesn't, it is going to be a HUGE letdown. I've been a DMC fan ever since the first one on launch day, and they better not screw this up.

Isn't it suppose to be a prequel ? To how it all began or whatever ? But then again, maybe during the game, closer to the end, his hair could go white and we could get a big surprise.

But im not holding my breath.

That's weird that all you people like Bayonetta the best, I thought Batman AA was much better. Bayonetta is your typical button masher, 100 useless combos, overly complicated combat system when it doesn't need to be.

Batman has the best combat system of any beat em up/hack n slash game I've played. Just the right amount of options, you're rewarded for using as many of them as you can in one combo string, it's easy to learn but difficult to master and requires strict timing to hold a combo flawlessly. The campaign leaves plenty of room for error to breeze through the game without taking the time to master the free flow combat system, you have to play the challenge maps to appreciate just how good it is.

The problem with AA is that it holds your hand way way too much. I played for a couple hours and got so tired of the 'Run here, press X to kick the sewer open', run here....hmm I'm behind some bad guys, maybe I should use my batterang! etc etc ad naseum.
