LCD, DLP, plasma, don't care. I just want something supporting all the latest high def inputs. Up to ~$2500. 42" or bigger. Don't want it dying out or needing bulb replacement every 2 years. If it needs a bulb replacement in 5 years... ok... but I'd like the TV to last a little longer than that. I will be hooking it up to the Logitech Z5500s. Will I need any other hardware? Would it need an HDTV tuner if I'm using digital cable HDTV package? TIA.

Get a Plasma. Most panels will last almost 1/3 of people's life span with nothing to replace every other year. Average 6hrs of watching per day a Plasma panel can last up to 25 years but then you have to worry about other electronics start to factor into as well. eg. psu etc. But heck, I'll be happy with my Plasma for about 5 years before another upgrade down the road.;)

Mine comes with hdmi input and I have a H20 model as my DirecTV hdtv tuner. Some model comes with hdtv tuner (OTA only). Ask your cable company to provide you a hdtv tuner with hdmi output is all you need.

If you dont mind using just a little space id recommend something like a lcd rear projection or dlp. You can get a lot more tv for the amount your spending. Plasman/lcd panel cost
more for less screen size. You can probably pick up a 56" samsung dlp for about $2500 or less if you look on the internet. Try amazon.com they usually have some good deals.
I have 42" samsung dlp and I really like it. Doesnt take up to much spacer either. HD is really awesome on it. Looking forward to the ps3.
