A friend of mine is looking into making his own web page for his small video business. Can anyone recommend a good web editor you can run on OS X? Free would be great or at least a demo of a commercial one that is not too expensive.

What is a "web editor"? Something like Dreamweaver? Why is he still using 10.1? Tell him to upgrade already.

I'm sorry is web page editor more to your liking? What about Web page design program? Let's not argue about semantics here.

Something like Dreamweaver?
Yes something like that. Although Dreamweaver is way more than he needs. He just needs a simple program for creating web pages. I don't know much software for Macs so I was hoping someone here had something that was free or low cost for him to use.

Why is he still using 10.1? Tell him to upgrade already.
What difference does it make that he is still on 10.1? So he is two revisions behind on his OS. When they come out yearly at $130 a piece not everyone can afford to upgrade them as soon as they come out. Besides 10.1 lets him does what he needs to do right now.

You could have meant a text editor for HTML, an FTP client, or any other type of software used for editing stuff on the web, how the hell was I suppsoed to know?

Is a text editor OK, or you want something graphical? Be more specific.

The difference that it makes is that there's a lot of software that requries 10.2 or later. (Dreamweaver requires 10.2.6, for example). So, if he wants to use dreamweaver, or the latest version of a lot of software, then 10.1 doesn't let him dowhat he needs right now.

I would like to get an application that is graphical, but still has a code or text view. Something that is easy to learn. I would prefer it to be Carbonized but it's not required. Needs to run on OS X 10.1 or below. I would prefer to not have something that runs in pre OS X.
