2 years ago my father, in his infinite wisdom, bought a first generation sony DVD handicam. It worked fine for simply stuff, but the editing program it came with was utter crap. The camcorder lacked the software to be compatible with Windows Movie Maker, or other video editing programs.
After years of fustration, I've finally decided - I'm going to guilt trip my parents into buying me a new camcorder. (I plan on paying most of it)
My requirments:
*Easy to use. Must be compatible with iMovie and Windows Movie Maker.
*Budget is $450 but this must include everything. Bipod, microphone, tape disc's, etc...
*On the DVD handicam, the audio reception was terrible. The quality itself was perfect, but only up to 3 or 4 ft. This is my highest priority, video is close second.
*Recommend me a decent microphone that will go well with this product. It would be better if the camcorder came with a microphone. Less hassle for me.
*Any other advice or suggestions will be appreciated
Thanks guys.
