I bought a EVGA GeForce 9800 GT Akimbo video card for $60.

However, people have been telling me to buy another video. Can someone recommend me another video card for around the same price.

I plan on playing some games like CS Source and Starcraft II.
I just bought the AMD Phenom II x4 965 Black Edition and the GIGABYTE 880ga-ud3h if that helps. Thanks

What have they been telling you to buy instead, and why? $60 isn't much to spend on a gaming card.

Also. what is your power supply (brand, total watts, 12V amps rating) since this tells us what cards it can run?

If you can spend around $100 then look for a Hot Deal on a GTX 460 768MB (don't buy the 1 GB "SE" version by mistake, it's crippled).

For $60 that's a great card. However, which resolution do you play at? If it's 1680x1050 or lower, DaveSimmons' advice would be the best one to follow (provided you do have the $100 to spend).

For 1360x768 the 9800GT at $60 was a great deal. You should be getting great results with your games, with the occasional odd-ball (Crysis, Metro 2033 - you will need to lower details a bit).

But if you can score a $100 GTX460 768MB, it will tear your games at max settings, literally 🙂
