Recommend me a UPS

Hi,

Usually the power delivery to my house is good, but I've been experiencing some brown-outs recently. I'm afraid they will seriously damage my PC and other equipment connected to it over time and I'm considering a UPS. Is APC the best brand? The rig that will be connected to it is in my sig and I also use a Dell U2410 monitor and a pair of 70W active speakers. What wattage should I look for?

CyberPower CP1350AVRLCD or the CP1500AVRLCD.
I have both and love them.

I have had APC and Tripplite. APC replaced a faultyunit quickly. So, far I like what it does. The battery died on the Tripplite, but I easily replaced it with one from local Batteries+ store. Stick to a name brand and you won't go wrong. Avoid E-Bay bargains.

Looking for one too. I had selected the CyberPower 1000VA pure sine wave UPS, but even that seems somewhat borderline for my new rig running flat out. A GTX580 surely doesn't help my power draw at the wall. I continue to read conflicting info on the choice of a pure sine wave unit, but I'd prefer to go that route even if it costs me $40 more.

Damn, things sure are cheap in USA. I'm looking at either AEG UPS Protect.A 1400 (~$300) or APC Power-Saving Back-UPS Pro 1200 (~$400). As you can see, pretty hefty prices here.

I've found APC's low-end UPS's to be mediocre. I've been speccing Eaton gear and projects lately, and I've bean pleased with their performance so far.

I've been pretty pleased with the CyberPower 1500. I have a bunch installed at different sites and I haven't had one fail on me yet.

I looked around and nobody seems to have CyberPowers here. I think I'll go with AEG then.
