I need something is okay with being alone for 8 hours a day, (i.e. no dogs because they'll crap on the floor in that time period) CLEAN (I can clean a litter box.. but I really don't want cat hair everywhere like i seem to see at other peoples houses) I'm also slightly allergic to some cats, but haven't really noticed a pattern. some cats can roll all over me and im fine, others make me stuff up really bad.

Personally I like the F-16...

Oh, pets. Get a pair of small, shorthair cats. They really don't shed much, and can be left alone as long as you feed them.
 
Snake. Quiet, non-allergic, easy to care for, inexpensive to feed and you can go away for a week or more at a time without needing anyone to take care of it.
 
I say a cat, but I am a cat person.

One thing is they do vomit. At least my cats do. Hairballs.

You can leave cats alone for a long time, but they really do need attention. When you are home they will be all over you. 🙂
