Ohh ... and "Taigukgi" is fvckin awesome ... that was actually the very first Korean movie I recall really watching and enjoying ... maybe 6 or 7 years ago ...

And 13 Assassins is great, I enjoy most of Miike's other works, but I see little bits and pieces of Kurosawa genius mixed in with "crazy Miike" type film ... it's really a wonderfully done film...

Not foreign, but I've been watching Indiana Jones trilogy all weekend. Think I'm on my 3rd viewing of Raiders of the Lost Ark in 3 days... TV showed the new one too. Not bad, with 20 years between the last one, it was obviously different in feel.

it's gonna suck, guaranteed. i can't imagine that trilogy being redone with american actors and still being amazing.

If they bothered getting Daniel Craig I've got to imagine they'll do a decent job with it. But who knows I guess.

yeah, a bit too melodrama/cloying blah blah Hollywood in Korea.

It wasn't bad, but all the expected beats were hit as predictably as one would expect. meh.

I'm Korean and I know Korean culture soap operas & notorious ridiculous melodrama.

I liked Saving Pvt Ryan. A simple plot that actually focused on war itself.

Taeguki was a same old Korean drama BS using war as a backdrop. That is not an inherent problem, but it is tiresome for same old Korean shit.
