Seeking a small footprint desktop case that has room for 1-2.5" HD, 1-3.5" HD, 1-3.5" OPTICAL drive and some 120/140mm fans. No graphic/add-on cards.

Any recommendations ?

Budget?

Buying from where?

Any requirement for CPU cooler height clearance, or are you using the stock cooler?

And you're 100% sure your motherboard is microATX?

1-2.5" HD, 1-3.5" HD, 1-3.5" OPTICAL drive and some 120/140mm fans.

There are probably no mATX cases that don't qualify, with the possible exception of some super cheap cases only having support for 80mm fans, and no native support for a 2.5" drive (can be corrected by using an adapter).

Budget? $100 or less

Buying from where? Newegg, Amazon, Microcenter, etc.

And you're 100% sure your motherboard is microATX? Mobo is mini-itx.

Cooler Master Elite 130 is a nice affordable but capable mini ITX case with native support for 2.5" drives and standard length ATX power supplies. 120mm fan on the front, 80mm on the side.

If you want to be able to upgrade to a micro ATX board or just want room to expand, add more hard drives etc., then look no further than Fractal Design Define Mini which is available for $75 from NCIX, it's worth $100. It's one of the best microATX cases, but it's not very compact. It's basically an ATX case with a bit of height chopped off. Cooler Master N200 is another nice microATX case, it's about an inch smaller in each direction and costs less. Both support 2.5" drives natively

The SilverStone Sugo Series SG05BB-LITE seems to fit the bill, it can hold 2-ssd drives, 1 3.5" hd and a slim dvd burner-might use an external dvd burner. Measures 11 x 10 x 14 inches. Will consider the CM Elite as well.

pardus, are you specifically looking for something really small, or just "smallish" ?

you already know i give my favour to the haf xb, (430mm per side), but you could look at BitFenix, they make some *really* nice small factor cases for a reasonable price, and they look magnificent.

Something small, as of now, it looks like the Corsair Obsidian Series 250D will be the best fit. The haf xb doesn't offer an external bay. The Gigabyte GA-Z87N-WIFI Mini ITX will fit nice in it.
