Recommend me a memory (based on this specs)

Recommend me a memory (based on this specs), im using laptop, so this is a SODIMM, but dont know if i need to buy, single channel, dual or triple, etc...

and, should i buy 4GB or 8GB memory, which will be useful and will work on my laptop?

Are you using a gaming laptop from Alienware, MSI, Asus, Sager or are you using a cheapie that you purchased from Best Buy? If you're using a cheapie, go get yourself some regular Micron/Crucial PC3-12800 and call it a day as performance modules won't make a difference in how it performs.

You only have two DIMM slots to use, and one is currently in use with a 4GB module sitting in it. I'm guessing that this laptop will be limited to 8GB, but you have not posted what kind of laptop you are using. Without knowing that, we can't make a determination. All I can say right now, is that you are limited to dual-channel RAM kits.

it is Z400, but there are lot of models in Z400

1. Your math is wrong. You have to remove the 4GB module that is currently installed and install 2x8GB modules. That will add up to 16GB of installed memory.

2. I would highly go with G.Skill over Kingston in a heartbeat. There is also no point in installing HyperX memory into a 'value' laptop. There would be no performance benefit. As for the G.Skill, I have had better luck using it in more laptops than with Kingston memory.

1. what is the difference of (2x4GB) module and 8GB module?
i know they both sum up to 8GB, but if i can get 1x8GB module, why go for 2x4GB module?
