I've got the apple bug, i want to be able to use adobe products flawlessly. I want to convert Xvid To DvD Burner (any good programs?)

Now I've considered a Mini But i believe its under powered for me.l m
Another thing is i need to sell my current rig to finance this project.

anybody have any idea what this rig is worth?

q6600 G0 @3.6 (Tuniq Tower)
Abit IP35-e mobo
Corsair 4X1GB DDR2 6400
XFX 7900GT
160GB HDD WD SATA II
Samsung DVD-RW Sata
Antec Neo H 500w Modular PSU
Antec P182 Gunmtl

What Kind of apple computer would be similar to those specs?

Just so you're aware, we don't allow price checks on these forums.

With that out of the way, a Mac Pro would be most comparable to your current rig.

Or, see about the hackintosh scene. It isn't quite the same since there is still some modding and work involved, and you never know what will make it break, but it isn't a bad way to learn OS X.

If you don't mind spending the money, get the octoXeon MacPro, rip a DVD in 15 minutes, convert it back to DVD in 1 hour (and that is being conservative) do other fancy things, really fast.

I got the Mac Pro bug as well and I love my MBP. With a nice rig like yours, you'll want to go 8-way Xeon for that.

Your only option is a mac pro or hackintosh if you want to stay close to the same. Although, I'd still argue the mac pro is far more given it's built around a server chip essentially. Sadly, I'll probably break down and buy one in a couple of years because I don't want to deal w/ the hackintosh for a main system.

If I can get the money (I keep buying guns) I am going to get a mac pro. We have a few in the office and they are very nice.
