Well, ive been on the search for an LCD TV. I don't want anything smaller than a 32", but nother larger than a 40". somewhere in the ballpark of $800-$1200.

Id like to have HDMI and all the goodies also with 1080P.

What do you all recommend ?

If this post is in the wrong place, Sorry...didn't know where to put it besides video.

I suggest you have alook at LG's line of 37 inch sets. They have S-IPS panels, the best for viewing angles and picture uniformity. They also have XD Engine processing circuit, which improves standard-def TV.

There is a 1080P model with a $ 2000 MSRP:

And a 1366x768 model for $ 1500 MSRP:

Actual prices are lower than MSRP, of course. The 1366x768 model's street price is near the ballpark of your $ 1000 budget.

If the set is only going to be used for TV viewing, Full-HD (1080P) is not necessary at this size: The slight improvement in quality can't be seen at normal viewing distance. If it is to be also used as a computer monitor, then Full-HD is necessary.

Also, you can have a look at Philips models which use S-IPS panels made in a factory shared with LG.

I recomend the Sharp 32 incher Its a fantastick monitor with one small bug. It will change contrast on you a tad while surfing the web. Otherwise, this, IMHO, is the best of the best. there is also a 37 version for 300 more.
