Recommend me a laptop

Looked through hot deals but couldn't find anything. I'm looking for a laptop with P4 or Amd processor (no celerons), 512MB of ram and 30GB+ hard drive. I need 14" screen, but 15 would be a plus. Thin design is also a big plus.

Wondering if it's possible to get something like that for around $1000. Any dell discounts going on? Any other recommendations?

Wow! I wonder if I can find something less powerful. Don't really 3Ghz cpu or Radeon 9000... Good deal though.

Sure, they're six months old. But the Thinkpads are ten times as durable as the Dells. I am getting the R32 from there. 1.8 GHz P4M is enough for anything I could need to run/

They come shipped at $1100 with 1.8 GHz P4M and 256 MB RAM. You can get another 256 MB RAM for $30 at Crucial.com....

There you go, $1130 + shipping for a THINKPAD! That's a GREAT deal.

Edit: The Inpsirons are also about an inch thicker and three pounds more than the thinkpad. Plus they are flimsy as hell. I think the 5150 is about 8 lbs. Yuck. I have to work on Latitudes at work all day.....and that is the reason why I am NOT buying a Dell.

Our dept supports mainly 70% desktops, 30% laptops, all dell. I spend more than half my time dealing with the laptops. F that.
