Recommend me a laptop CPU

Im buying barebones laptop and im debating on which CPU to put in it. My main concerns are 1. having enough CPU power to not bottleneck my graphics card. and 2, battery life.

I was pretty set on this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16819111002 but now im thinking it might be overkill for a 9600 M GT.

If i got something cheaper like a used T5500 would it be able to keep up?

And also would it use more battery than the expensive card?

EDIT: ill be doing mostly gaming on this, not so much encoding and whatnot.

I wouldn't worry about the processors power consumption so much, you've already got a 9600 M GT, that alone will kill your battery life and end the mobility of the laptop. Personally I would only choose a weaker cpu if trying to save money, I doubt that that C2D is too much for the graphics card. People pair much stronger processors with video cards of that performance range on the desktop all the time.
