Secondly, the question in the first thread may be off-the-wall, but it is an interesting topic. The problem is all the people who ruined it by just posting "you are a loser" type crap. Make it harder to actually find anything in the thread that's on-topic.

Off-Topic describes the manner of the threads. As in, you post threads about topics that are &quot;Off Topic.&quot; That does not mean you go around in threads and post random nonsense. Off Topic defines the threads, not the replies.

Did they have a right to post and blast him? Yes. They can say almost whatever they want to, but that doesn't mean their posts had any worth whatsoever. Like it or not, the question was 'philosophical'. The replies were mostly rubbish.
