Do you guys know of any accurate temp monitoring units that fit into a 5.25 bay with around 6 thermistors, or the ability to add additional thermistors?

I couldn't find one that accepted more than 4 inputs.
 
Just out of curisosity how do you place your thermocouple on the CPU? The only thing I could think of was wedge it down next to the HSF and bracket. Because you really can't put it ON the CPU, because it would fry.
 
The digidoc 5 monitors 8 temp sensors. But since I don't want to throw $40+ on a sensor unit, does anyone know how I could build one myself?
