Recommend Me A Hard Drive! SATA

Hey guys I was wondering if anyone could recommend me a good hard drive. I'm upgrading my system for Christmas and I'd like to get rid of my RAID 0 config. I'm looking for a SATA, 7200RPM, 200GB+ hard drive. I hate Maxtor so don't even bother recommending them. I DO like WD, Seagate, and Samsung. I've got 3 WD hard drives now, my friend swears by Seagate, and I've got a Samsung 60GB 5400RPM in my laptop 🙂. I noticed that WD has a TON of different ones as does Seagate and I'm not sure which to pick. I'll be gaming a lot and installing games and programs like Photoshop on this hard drive as well.

Thanks!

The best SATA gaming drives are 400GB. Look at this review. THe Hitachi 500GB is the only drive faster (Raptors notwithstanding) but it jumps to $380 over the modest $200 prices of the WD4000KD / WD4000YR.

Storagereview doesn't include a lot of the 250GB models in thier testbed4

whatever has NCQ there's no point in going for an HD without this useful technology on the drive, specially win ur spendin' that much

What is the difference between the two WD drives? I may want to pick one of these but the few $ difference is strange

What exactly does NCQ do besides hinder the performance?

Improves I/O for simultaneous access in server enviroments. Completely uselss to desktop users.

YR has 2-year longer warranty, 16 hours more burn in, and stops trying error-recovery after 7 seconds because its meant for use in fault tolerant RAID arrays.
