Time to retire the old Navigon 2100. She was a good lass, but her parent doesn't want to support her anymore. So now I have to put her to bed (or give it to the kids to play with on our upcoming trip. Details follow.)

Driving down from Albany to Virginia Beach this summer and would like a good, solid, reliable GPS. I looked into the apps in the App Store but I want a bigger screen.What I'm looking for are the following;

1. 5" screen
2. Lifetime Maps/Traffic
3. Accurate Traffic re-routing

Some models I'm looking at are the Garmin 2350LMT and the 2455LMT. I'm somewhat hesitant to get a Garmin simply because of their traffic re-routing can be laggy. So that turned me to the TomTom GoLive series. I haven't looked in-depth at the GoLive, so I am asking anyone who wants to reply what your recommendation would be.

If Google would make a stand-alone GPS, it would be a wrap. Google Maps is THEE best for GPS navigation and I love it via my crapphone. Honestly. I've gone a 2 or 3 hurricane calls out in New Jersey,... the one time I had 2 Garmin GPSs going, they still didn't have a chance against Google maps. I would use the Garmins cause it was convenient to suction cup them on the window cause the hardware is best with those like that but when i REALLY needed to find a place cause the 2 Garmins couldn't I relied on Google maps + Navigation.

What BTRY said. Some thin, slick piece of Moto hardware, running Google Nav (couple with some Google Search capabilities) and with an invisible and free cellular connection for background updates and assisted triangulation (like Amazon Whispernet does for data). That would be game over in the GPS arena.

edit: not too helpful for your current situation...I have a Garmin 1390 LMT and it blows.
