ROFL

You mean the one that actually cleans, and will even shampoo and buff floors?

All these plastic POS vacuums being recommended gives me a good laugh.

The sad (yet true) fact is that a 30 year old Kirby will still outperform any of these POS Dirt Devil, Eureka, et al.

I'm not going to pay 800-1000 for a stupid vacuum. You sound like a Kirby salesman.

I have this model, and it's the best vacuum I've ever had (haven't owned the higher priced ones, but I've owned Kenmore/Dirt Devil/Hoover).

I also have this model and really like it. The carpet is nice and fluffy afterwards (adjustable levels for the beater bar). Also all the clear plastic helps track down clogs if one happens. I have been very happy with it and have had it a couple of years. Only a little damage on the electrical cord where I loaned it to my mom and she ran over it while vacuuming. I also really like the quick switching knob to go back and forth from floor to attachments.

Edit: I use my vacuum cleaner for vacuuming, not cleaning the carpet (I say this because it looks like some were recommending multipurpose machines). I grew up with a stepfather that ran his own carpet cleaning business. If we ever really needed to clean the carpet we had a truck mount machine available. As far as vacuum cleaners I have used, the one above is good for not being too expensive.

Sorry, the Kirby's are overpriced and not great. I just replaced mine. It vacuums ok, not great. It's super heavy and attachments are a pain. It doesn't really clean carpets, it makes lots of foam though. It needed bags too. My new Dyson is 3x better, half the weight, built in hose and attachments and no bag.

Kirby exist solely by pressure sales and 4x the price of an "equal" vacuum.

lucky u, this months new consumer reports has another vacumn rating lineup:)

and no, dyson isn't number 1;)

its kenmore/electrolux/kenmore/eureka/hoover for spots 1-5, dyson is 6, and hoover takes the next 3 slots:p the rest of the dysons are way farther down
