Recommend me a good SCSI RAID controller

err

Platinum Member
My company needs to build a SCSI - RAID 1 based machine.

We are going to use IBM Ultrastar 10,000 drive RAID 1.
We will be using Redhat 7.1 on this machine

What would be a good entry level SCSI RAID 1 controller that works well with red hat ?

I am looking at adaptec 2100S

would you recommend it ? If not , what other controller would be good ?

Thanks for any input

Take a look at the Mylex AccelleRaid 170 ~$399 it's a 32 bit pci controller.

Also you should look at raid5 .

I second Mylex. The cache on the ard is a standard 168 pin ECC DIMM so you can upgrade by popping in a new DIMM.
