What's a good network adapter to pair with an AC1750 router if I want to try to get the max for my money? Budget of up to $60.

I see that there are a lot of AC1200 usb 3.0 adapters but are there good ones that go faster?

Thanks

Don't go USB adapters, go PCI-e either full size or mini-PCIe. The USB adapters seem...problematic. Most don't seem to hit much better than 200Mbps with a tail wind, even the AC1200 adapters. I can do that with my 2:2 N600 router.

You'll need a three stream AC1750 (or 1900) PCIe adapter if you want to take full advantage of the router, or another AC1750 router in bridge mode with the client wired to the router in bridge mode.

Figure $100.

At $60, you can easily buy the Intel 7260ac desktop kit and that'll get you 867Mbps speeds and is a nice solid adapter.

Just isn't much in the 3-stream catagory for 802.11ac right now and probably never will be. There wasn't for 802.11n.

That sounds expensive and a bit disappointing. Now I'm questioning whether to buy the router or just do the difficult cabling for wired.

Thanks

WD My Net AC Bridge worked just as well as using a second AC router for me. I think you can probably get them around that price point these days.
