Im gonna be moving my stuff this august 10th... anyone can reccomend a good moving company?? (one that will not rip me off)

also do I need to reserve them as early as possible?? Im thinking of calling them at august 1st, since currently I am outside of of US until 31st july

I dont wanna do UHAUL since I have to drive my car there also (no I dont want to tow my car), and on top of that Im moving by myself, so I need a mover to assist me in unloading the stuff

Thanks in advance

Uhaul doesn't maintain their trucks, their customer service is staffed by lazy stupid jerkoffs, and I guarantee that if you do anything outside of a local move you'll be sorry. Oh, and their facilites are staffed by morons. Forgot to mention that.

Try Penske. THe reviews at epinions seem to speak a lot more highly of them, and they're cheaper.

One more thing. Reserve NOW NOW NOW. The closer to your date you reserve your truck the more they'll gouge you. Both companies have online quotes available.

Also make sure you have your date set in stone. You can get gouged for changing your date too. My g/f had a date for a Uhaul truck set in August, changed to October, and they wanted $50 more. So she cancelled. I just checked Penske and they were $150 less.

If you want to gamble with a local mover, go here:
http://www.moving.com/
Fill out a form, and the next morning starting at 7AM you'll start getting quotes via phone calls from movers.

United Van Lines ! Expensive, but better than the rest. Don't go with no name companies. You risk running into problems. Remember, you usually get what you pay for.
