recommend me a good horror novel

The recent supernatural thread has made me want to read a good horror/supernatural book. What good books/authors are there? Stephen King is the only one I can think of off the top of my head, although I haven't read any of his books.

Dean Koontz has some good ones.
Watchers is probably my favorite but Twilight Eyes and Phantoms are also pretty good.

If you haven't read any King, then it's probably best to start off with him or Koontz. The Shining and It are great books by King. Phantoms is one of my favorites by Koontz. If you want to read some good classic horror, try H.P. Lovecraft.

I bought almost all Koontz books. He is great, even better than King.
