I have 3 target audiences, so three would be perfect.

audience #1 is my brother in law.. (middleaged male) he has a bad cancer and has to spend a lot of time just sitting around from his treatments. I gave him a GBA for his birthday and now I need to give him some new games for christmas because it's lookin' like he's gonna need a lot more entertaining coming up. He likes tetris best of all, but he has that already.

audience #2 is me. :) (middleaged female) I like pinball best of all but I don't think there is a pinball I don't have.., and I like wandering around adventure type things that don't have much fighting, and if they have some fighting, have plenty of save options because I not only don't like fighting, I suck at it :p I like repetitive puzzle things ok too, tetris and bejeweled and stuff like that.. and the wandering around collecting stuff games like harvest moon.. and one of the pokemon games amused me for a while, years back.. but I'd like something different.. something non-violently adventurey or side-scrolling platform cute that doesn't require too much dexterity but at the same time isn't too easy. I don't want to die and start over all the time but I don't want to just wander through and be done, either. I have to spend a week in utah with my inlaws and I don't own winter clothes :)

audience #3 are late teens/early 20's lifelong geekboy gamer types. that should be the easy one.

recommend away. please?

FFTA is probably best for 3, its a turn based RPG that would probably require a more geeky audience to appreciate. Metroid fusion is a pretty good sidescroller so you should like that one. Warioware inc is a fun collection of lots of short minigames, not sure if 1 would like it (might be to juvenile?) but its very easy to get into and pretty fun.

Pokemon Leafgreen/Firered! No, seriously!

Everyone likes Pokemon, and these ones are the best yet. Everyone on your list would like them, except perhaps you, as you've apparently already played one.

I played pokemon yellow, in japanese, on an emulator when my son was still in elementary school (he was playing red or blue on gameboy and managed to translate for me, somehow).. so.. 6 years ago at least? I do own it in english but the emulator was so much easier to see..

what makes these new ones so great? I'm sure my brother in law has never played pokemon of any sort but I may have to force him to even try :p.. but I might like another go, that was a long time and it was pretty fun. :)

they should make kirby's dreamland for GBA.. I loved that game..

Aside from the tonnes of improvements to the game itself (new pokemon, new areas, obviously FAR better graphics, gameplay enhancements like the ability to hold items... each game comes with a wireless adapter that lets you play each other from around 180 feet. That'd be a lot of fun if there were two or more of you with it :p
