Recommend me a good flight simulator...

MS FS is the most realistic, with alot of addons that you can download off the net - planes and stuff. Most people use that, I'd stick to that.

why do people say "recommend me" ???
Because in the New Millenium, English is FTL!

Also, I recommend MS FS.
It really is the best out there.

What I can not recommend for you (because I am still searching, myself) is a good modern jet sim. The Fighters Anthology from Janes was good, but it came out in '98 or '99 as I recall.

IL2 1946 pack.
Mostly WW2 planes, with a handful of later planes.
Basically WW2 combat flight sim with planes from all over the world.

X-plane is ridiculously realistic. might want to check that out, though it's very much a "pure simulator" versus a game.

I haven't played X-plane in a couple years but I used to love it. Very realistic and it used to have a pretty decent community for picking up new planes and such. You should check it out.... just talking about it is making me want to go grab the latest version.

MS Flight Sim 2004 if you have mid range video card. FSX can be used both DX9 and DX10 but best use with DX10 and next generation video card like 8088 or HD 2900XT.

FSX does NOT support DX10 (yet). They will introduce a DX10 patch sometime in the future, but no one knows when. It was NOT included with SP1.

FSX is also CPU bound, something that SP1 aleviated a bit, but is still completely CPU bound. That means that even a midrange card fairs about the same as a high-end card, depending on the settings. If you use insanely high resolution (1900 X 1200) and AA/AF, then yes, you will likely need a high end card to enjoy it. But, you really need a Dual Core or Quad Core CPU clocked pretty high to ensure "smooth" play...

Also, the guys all over the FSX forums say that FS2004 on the highest settings is still not as good as FSX on the lowest settings. So, even if you do manage to get FSX, even low settings looks pretty good.
