Recommend me a good AV switch.

MX2

I have too many game consoles, DVD players, VCR's, etc. hooked up to the living room TV and I am tired of swapping cables at the TV inputs🙁 I need one that does both S/Video and RCA connections.

Any suggestions or opinions would be much appreciated🙂

Bought the one they have at BestBuy for like 20 bucks (in the video game section). Has 5 (I think) S-Vid & Composite switches. Seems fine.

Sounds good🙂 Which one is it?

Thought about getting an affordable A/V receiver instead? It offers better video connection than your run of mill generic A/V switch.

I didn't say you have to buy the Denon AVR-5805.

Kinda dumb to buy a single receiver unless you have speakers to hook it up to imo. Which going by his reply, he doesn't.

Whatever gender the OP is, will buy a bunch of speakers when the receiver's purchased.

Heh (I guess I missed the avatar!); well we're talking quite a bit more when considering a basic switch versus a seperated audio system. Not that I disagree with your assessment for best case, as my switch is in storage as due to one less TV I just use my Onkyo for a component/s/composite switch, power Axiom Audio speakers.

A good switch is one that has no moving parts to it. Most of the $20 ones are mechanical. I have a nice solid state (welcome to the 70's?) one that I got a while ago. Has like 7 inputs. Picture quality is unaffected to my eyes after passing through it. I got mine at a swapmeet for like $30. Its an RCA. Not sure if its still out on store shelves.
