Recommend me a GOOD 802.11G router

Hey guys, hopefully someone can recommend me a reliable 802.11G router...
I live in an apartment with 2 roomates and we have been using a Netgear WGT624. The first one we had (with latest firmware) would randomly drop the connection and would need to be rebooted until it died one day. We RMAed it and received a new one which has worked with the same symptoms of dropping the connection until it finally died this morning. We plan on RMAing and and selling it. In the meantime, we need to buy a RELIABLE router which does not drop the connection. It seems that a heavy use of file sharing programs would cause it to drop out. Can anyone recommend a router to replace this? Thanks in advance!

The same thing happens to me with that router the WGT624 when using WinMX or some other stuff. It hasn't broke though. I also use a wireless card in one of my computers. If you are using wireless try setting the speed in there in the router where it says like b only, g only, Auto 108, etc. Set it to Auto 108, I did that today and it has been working so far. Also put it on Channel 6. Try using Port Forwarding instead of Port Triggering if you are using that.

huh, I have a WGT624 in my office at work and it's worked fine. I have a D-Link DI624 here at home and that has worked without issue as well.

The connection drop out problems we are having are a result of file sharing programs and the simultaneous connections from these programs. At this point, I'm not even sure if there's a router on the market that doesn't suffer from these problems.

So far with those settings above, I have only lost connection once. That was when I was on CarMax not on WinMX. Anyway are you using wireless or are you wired to the router?

I was using the wireless through the router. I would try those settings if it would start functioning again!

You won't be disappointed with Linksys WRT54G 802.11g wireless-G broadand router.

oh, but i'm living proof it also suffers from massive bandwidth usage. doesn't happen all the time, but i will have to reset it if it's been taking on a lot of traffic. This was both stock and modded firmware (svaevensoft or however you spell it).

Anything by LINKSYS is a great router.

Except for Linksys BEFW1154 version 4 (I think) router which many people reported so many problems when downloading more than 300K size.

Does anyone experience the dropped connection issues due to Bittorrent with the WRT54G with Sveasoft Firmware?
