Recommend me a game

I want to play a game on my laptop but it has generic intel 915 chipset graphics.

Just want a game that is fun to play but not too graphic intensive.

As I forgot to bring home a DVI to VGA adapter I never needed before, I'm on Thanksgiving break at home with my own computer that I can't use on a CRT monitor. So I'm going to have to use an old computer I gave to my parents (1.2ghz Tbird, 512mb RAM, original Radeon 64) for games.

Thus, I have installed original CS, DoD, and TFC thanks to Steam Silver, Tribes 2 + shifter (afraid there will be no servers for this), and Legends (built by Tribes fans). Might also install a old C&C game. Not sure if Tribes 1 or 2 has any Shifter mod servers. I think Savage would run on here as well. Or I could try some emulators.

System Shock 2 is free now? Is that legal?

Rise of nation = RTS
Half life 1 = FPS
Deus ex = RPG/FPS/Open end
Civilization 3 = Turn base Strategy
Freespace 2 = Space Sim
Freelance = Space sim with RPG elements
Diablo 1 & 2 = hack and slash RPG

Also a $60 used 6600gt or X800gto would help in playing new games like Warhammer Dark Crusade ...ect

Not for the OP's laptop.

How about Quake 3, UT (AKA UT99), Wolfenstein Enemy Territory (free)? I picked up Total Annihilation Kingdoms from Fry's for $0.99, which should work.

I've downloaded and played the exact version from that site. It's the full version, cutscenes have been reccompressed to DivX. Cutscenes don't work on my comp for some odd reason but I just view the files seperately. Also: READ THE README Otherwise the game gets fvcked up.

It's the full game, although I'm not sure if it includes the cutscenes. I originally played that version a few years ago before getting a cheap copy off ebay. It's a bit tricky to get working on modern systems though. It ran fine on a Geforce3 in WinME when I first played it, but I couldn't get it working stably on any recent Nvidia card in XP unless I used 640x480. ATI cards seem to work fine at other resolutions. It also crashes a lot on dual cores, but there is a patch floating around to fix that.
