also is there a way to download other maps and stuff?
Well, you could look at the original "portal" game, Prey. While the portals in Prey are static, the sequel intends to leap frog Portal.
Keep an eye out for maps and mods on sites like http://www.portalmaps.net/ (I'm sure Google can offer better sites too) but there really are no games like it.
Dude. No fucking way. That's awesome! Downloading that shit out this bitch!
Theres a HUUUUGE map-pack for portal thats like a bazillion levels.. I forgot what its called But its free though.
tagged for later

Portal Game Maps
ill hopefully be trying these out tonight. thanks guys
Here's a flash based Portal game i've been playing that's pretty fun.
If you like puzzle games with a touch of dark humor, check out World of Goo.
The charm of portal was the environment. The puzzle aspect was similar to other puzzle/adventure games.
that and the fact that you could make PORTALS.
marked for post vacation
you could always play the original
this game is not like Portal, rather, Portal is like this game
Yes! I played this at work for a few weeks
Have they given up? That was more than a year ago.
LOL! You don't remember the first game do you? Development started in 1995 and it was finally released in 2006. If the 2nd one takes less than 11 years it'll be an improvement, so I wouldn't be excited about seeing the sequel too soon.
Not only is Portal like that game, the same people made both.
FYI, I thought Portal was great - up to the point they did something I thought was in bad taste, though most will disagree with me.
I thought the forcing of the player to destroy the companion cube to progress was just wrong, and filled with Schadenfreude, like making you kill a puppy to progress.
I decided to stop playing it at that point, but am planning to check cheat codes. Screw 'em.
