Recommend me a game or two for my niece and I to play

Reason I am asking is that my lovely niece and my dear Sister are coming over from Brazil to visit for about 3 weeks and some change. I haven't seen my sis for a couple of years and her daughter for 6 years!

She is now a little bit younger than 14. Anyways, Besides trips and fun I have planned for us, we will be spending quiet a bit of time together and they would be alone at my place while I am at work in the morning. So I at least have a PS3 and would love to play with my niece and have fun with her and when she is playing alone.

The point is, I have NO clue of what so ever what games excite kids these days and let alone a 14 year old girl 😕.

Had I had a Wii that would have been an easy question, but I have a PS3 and all my titles are violent as hell and so is my gaming 😛

So help out an uncle here 😀

Any of those downloadable ones on PSN. they're cheap, make sure to pick the simple ones, unless your niece is a gamer, and like figuring things out, i find most females don't.
 
2nd vote for lego series - all very easy to learn and have puzzles that are challenging enough to not be boring and not too difficult that you won't eventually figure it out.

2nd vote for rock band - this game is so addictive and fun that they could play this for hours. The main drawback is that you have to invest quite a bit into the game to make it fun (rock band box set comes with 1 mic, 1 drumset, 1 guitar and then everyone will recommend buying a 2nd guitar to complete the band).

Flower is a fun game. It is 1-player, but it is quite breathtaking and fun to watch others play. I would say this is the most female friendly game available as the whole point of the game is guiding flower petals around the world reviving nature and spreading beauty. On the flip side of things, this game is fun for guys because there are pretty good puzzles, lots of secrets, and it's basically like flying a plane through hoops and stuff.

Super Puzzle Fighter HD is a fun game. It's like the modern age tetris, and tetris has always been one of the more acceptable games to women.

All Pixeljunk games are pretty fun too. The pixeljunk racers game is basically a virtual slot car game. The best part about this game is that you can have multiple players so everyone in your family can play (provided you have enough controllers). Pixeljunk eden may be fun for your niece too. Download the demo for Eden and let her try it out to see if you should buy it.

Super Stardust HD is a fun 2-player 3-d galaxian style game.

I put my second vote for Little Big Planet - platform jumping is easy and fun although as the game progresses the difficulty ramps up - I'm looking at you Endurance Dojo/Sensei's Lost castle - gf got frustrated cuz of the difficulty with making the jumps with the ball spinning.

Flower looks like such a good choice and so do those Lego games...I am grabbing those of PSN very soon 🙂

PS: Manhunt 2 isn't a bad option either for my 14 year old niece.........had I wanted to turn her into a serial killer 😛
 
Depends on the type of woman she is...maybe little big planet...maybe rock band...GTA 4! Just gotta find out when she gets there. Ask her LOL...does she play games at all?
 
Rock Band is hard to miss on because if she doesn't like the vocals she'll like the instruments (or vice versa). Flower is great from a casual perspective but it's pretty shallow.
