Recommend me a DVD Player which can play SVCDs ($200~$300)

Hey ladies,
I have a Panasonic TX-29AS10D TV and I'm looking for a DVD Player which can play SVCDs. That's my only criteria actually. Divx and Xvid would also be cool but not necessary. The best "input" that my TV can take is S-Video so there's no need for Component Video connection.

TIA

Hmm... i don't think you'll be needing $200... i've got the one from Ratshack's black friday and it plays SVCD...

look out in hotdeals. sales u can get a progressive player for 30 or even less. reg prices aren't much higher, play mp3s too. for 60 i think u can get divx😛

dvdrhelp.com

search on features you want.

There are $35 players that play SVCD's and $100 players that don't. I'd guess a $2-300 player would, but you can't be certain. So, visit http://www.dvdrhelp.com and search there. Then be sure to read the reviews for the model(s) you are interested in.

switzerland... no wonder... they don't sell the cheapo apex/aspire etc players over there? the one i got even plays jpgs and mpgs off cdrs i toss in.

we have here DVD players for about $50 too but I don't want the cheapest. I'm thinking about the JVC XV-N55SL, anyone got experience with that one? 🙂

My Memorex plays everything I've thrown at it... I paid $129 over a year ago. My father-in-law has a very expensive Sony that doesn't play crap. LoL

yeah, that's what I've heard too that the well-known-brand players can't play crap. I just read a review of the JVC player I mentioned before and it also plays everything I would throw at it BUT there are problems with stuttering and stuff and that can really ruin the experience.
