im needing to upgrade the vid card in one of my kids machines. Currently has a TNT2 32mb in it. They play all kinds of games etc and it appears things are getting a bit choppy etc. The machine they have is a 1.3 ghz.

I dont really wanna spend more then $100 for it tho. Is this realistic? They dont need state of the art but i know theres gotta be something out there thats better then the old tnt2 for less then $100?

Plz enlighten me !

thx :)

Yeah, probably the ATI Radeon 8500 64mb is the best option for $100. And we are talking about a very good card, much, very much better than the TNT2 you have.

If you want somethin even cheaper with good performance, maybe the Geforce 4 mx440 could be it, it's around $85. But paying the extra $15 for the ATI 8500 is really worth it.

Forgot to mention... Geforce 3 ti 200 is also a good option, you can get one for about $95. And it's better than the Geforce 4 mx440.
