I wasn't sure if this belonged in here or in "Cases and Cooling" but I figured this forum would be where those more knowledgeable about CPU cooling would be.

I'm looking for a relatively inexpensive cooler for my new (to me) socket 939 3400+. It's going to be placed in the Geeks MSI motherboard in the Hot Deals section and will power a Home Theater PC, so I really want it to be quiet. It will not be overclocked at all for the time being as it's already overkill for a HTPC.

The PC itself is focused on quiet operation, so there won't be any crazy amounts of airflow, so I would prefer the heat sink to have a fan on it...(for $20 I'm sure there aren't any decent fanless coolers anyways).

Cliffs:

Need cheap/quiet heat sink for socket 939 3400+ that's going to power a Home Theater PC. So quiet is preferred.

Thanks.

The Freezer64 is a good performing heatsink with a 92mm fan. It's not ultra quiet, but performs well, and if you aren't overclocking, you could run the fan at a lower speed. The HSF goes for around ~$20 online.

That would be a good pick if it actually were available for $20, which it isn't.
