Hey all,

Can anyone recommend a decetn wireless printer? looking for something around $75, maybe $100 tops. I scored a deal for a HP 5850 a little while ago for around $55 after rebates, anything similar in specs/price range? thanks.

The Canon iP4000R is wireless, but nowhere near that low priced. That's the one I'd buy if I had the coin. But maybe there is a wireless device out there that can make any printer wireless. You can get the iP4000 for around $100. AR now - so perhaps the combo will be less than the R model.

Found a thing called the AmbiCom WP-Kit for about $50. Makes most USB printers wireless. There are also similar InfraRed (IR) devices that may be a bit cheaper.

Welcome to the ATFs, Alaska.

But the item you linked to has a Centronics printer port - NOT USB...

I was wondering why you couldn't just hook to printer up to one of the PCs on the wireless network and then just set it as shared?

I think you'll be hard-pressed to find a current wireless printer for under $100, you got a great deal on that 5850...(not quite as good as the one I got, after rebates I actually made money 😀) but until stores start lowering prices anticipating new models, I doubt you'll get a new one for any less than $125 or so.

That said, the best deal I've seen recently on the new 6840 from HP was $99 after a $100 MIR.
