I'm looking for a digital camera in the $600-700 price range, And I thought about getting the canon S60?

Any comments on that?

BTW it needs to be a compact camera.
 
How about more info?

What do you plan to use it for? Sports? Low light? Landscape? Portrait?
Batteries? AA or proprietary?
Preference on memory type?
Need for manual features?
How important is size?
 
I'd recommend a Canon PowerShot G5 as a good all-around $500 digital camera. It's slightly bigger than the S60, but it has better optical zoom, more options and manual features, and the ability to add lens and flash attachments. Add a big CompactFlash card and an extra battery, and you'll be spending about $650.
