Recommend me a book

I need a book for a book report.

It must be by an American author, an novel, and preferably around 200pgs. (I'm running out of time )

Oops, didn't see that you admit its for a book report. I'd say like Huck Finn is an easy choice. That or something like Where the Red Fern Grows. What grade are you in? Reading a 200 page book for a book report won't look that good.

How about Neal Stephenson? The Cryptonomicon is top notch, though the hardback edition is 900+ pages.

I guess I can't be of much help, since I like going for the larger ones. But you can try A Farewell to Arms by Hemmingway.

Pagan Babies by Elmore Leonard.

Over 300 pages but a very quick read. I read the whole book on a flight from Salt Lake to Houston to Raleigh (6 hours).

Cool book, too. Modern story full of crooks, liars, and banana beer.
